‘Born and bred’ former Rushworth boy Haydn Barlow was awarded a Conspicuous Service Cross in the King’s Birthday Awards this year. Proud parents Bill and Val were delighted to attend the Awards presentation in September.
Haydn Barlow was awarded a Conspicuous Service Cross in the King’s Birthday Awards this year. Proud parents Bill and Val were delighted to attend the Awards presentation in September. The citation for Haydn’s Award read:“For outstanding achievement in the execution of Australian Army Public Affairs and stategic communications.Lieutenant Colonel Barlow demonstrated outstanding skill and dedication as a strategic advisor and leader within the Australian army Public Affairs Corps. He has played a vital role in enabling the Chief of Army to shape and communicate the Australian Army’s vision following the release of the National Defence Strategy 2024. His leadership as the head of Corps of the Australian Army Public Affairs Corps has created a generational impact with enduring benefits across the Australian Defence Force.”Haydn lived his early years in Rushworth, attending St Mary’s School and Rushworth Secondary College. He now lives with his family in Canberra.
