Facelift for Ironbark Stadium

Residents of Rushworth will soon notice a change underway at the Rushworth Public Park, better known to many as the Ironbark Stadium.

There has been an increasing noticeable hazard as cars are entering and exiting the ground especially on football day with an increasing number of supporters attending football matches. First to go will the gate entry building.

Already Jason Webb from Webb stonework has volunteered to demolish the building after the Rushworth Field and Game crew with the Rushworth P12 HOPE students remove the roof and eaves. If anyone wants to jump in and demolish and take the large brickwork that would be okay. Anyone interested in the bricks or with a hole or scour that needs filling contact Graeme Wall 0407940658. The Park trust acknowledges the people who built and have used the building  and thank them for their contribution but a better entry exit is required.

President of the Rushworth Public Park Peter Raglus has said this improvement to ground has been talked about for some time and hoping there will be an announcement soon about the next stage of this project.

This week the ground has had an addition of fertilizer and a scarify to open and level the ground surface. Funding is always an issue, but the committee are determined to improve the ground for users and spectators.
