All About Wildlife
We have had a significant win for wildlife recently with Bunnings announcing all second generation rodenticides to be removed from their shelves by the end of June this year. For many years wildlife carers and researchers have voiced their concerns about rodenticides and the effects we see in our native

Apart from birds, there is only one other animal who has evolved independent flight with wings....the bat. Grey-headed Flying Foxes are our largest species of bat in Australia and we are lucky enough to have them in Northern Victoria. We currently have two major colonies, one being at

These ongoing high temperatures here in Northern Victoria can be very difficult for our wild creatures, although when temperatures build up slowly they seem to cope a lot better. It’s the sudden temperature fluctuations which can cause even more havoc. Some people say they think the roos are emaciated.

Our year of 2026 has not begun with the prosperity one wishes for both ourselves and others when we celebrate the New Year. Sadly, catastrophic weather conditions have played havoc in different areas of our country with areas in Victoria facing heat events, high winds and fire as well as

It has been a year of hard work, attending copious calls for wildlife needing help and caring for numerous native lives who find themselves at one of our two Bohollow Shelters. For my family and I at our founding Bohollow Wildlife Shelter at Bunbartha, it’s been a year of
