‘I love all species of our native ducks...‘
2020-07-16
I love the presence of tiny
ducklings at Bohollow and watching
them grow so quick, within eight
weeks newly hatched ducklings
transform from tiny balls of fluff to
flying wanderers of our wetlands.
Wedge-tailed Eagle comes into care

One of the most magnificent species I
have the privilege to work with is the Wedgetailed
Eagle.
The heat is on

With the weather extremely warm again this week, it is going to be another busy one for Bohollow.
Support your local shelter
2020-02-13
I have sat back in silence and watched things unfold while the world has seemed to go a little crazy of late. We received many phone calls daily for about three weeks running for the duration of the horrific fires which hit our state this season. Social media was rampant with blame, false accusations and many fundraising activities to raise money and supplies for burnt wildlife.
Some do’s and dont’s
2020-11-19
Bohollow has been buzzing with the
incessant calls of baby birds. We are always
pushed to our limits each year during the height
of the nesting season. The only saving grace
is that baby birds grow extremely quickly
so as fast as we are preparing fledglings to
fend for themselves and releasing, more are
pouring in through the shelter’s doors.
Release day for young female koala
2020-06-04
It is always wonderful to see the wildlife
who come into care at Bohollow get back to
their wild homes and it is the rewarding aspect
of what we do. Just over a week ago Deb and
I released a young female koala back to the
eucalyptus trees of Loch Garry.
