If the end clamp has been lost on your zipper, use a stapler and put two staples across the end of the teeth where you want the end to be. This should hold it well until able to repair properly.
Burnt nonstick frying pan
Boil three parts water and one part vinegar in the pan for about ten minutes. Allow the solution to cool and then scrub the pot with warm, soapy water and a soft cloth. Add vinegar to the suds for particularly stubborn stains.
Oops - got lipstick on your clothes? WD40 will remove the stain with a quick squirt.
Cut a piece of folded aluminium foil several times and then cut through it with the scissors - this should help to re-sharpen the scissors.
Pull bananas apart before displaying them in your fruit bowl. If you leave them connected at the stem, they’ll ripen faster and go brown quicker. Who knew?
Butter too frozen to spread
Grate a piece of your slab of butter, and then use the grated butter to spread on your bread or toast as needed.
If your zipper is not gliding up and down the teeth well, rub the lead of a graphite pencil across and up and down the teeth for about an inch below the problem area a few times. Slide zip down onto graphite coverage and up and down a few times. This should help the gliding and work well again.
QUICK FIX VACUUM TOOL
To suck up hard-to-reach gunk under your fridge or behind a bookshelf, insert an empty paper towel roll into the end of your vacuum cleaner and bend, or flatten it, to squeeze into these difficult spots.
If your photo in the photo frame keeps sliding and not straight – place two rubber bands on top of the photo, then the frame base plate and fasten. The rubber will grip the frame base and the photo will not move.
To reheat a pizza so that the base is out-of-theoven crisp, heat your leftover slices in a fry pan on low-medium heat on the stove until warm and wave goodbye to the days of soggy microwave pizza.
Need to juice a lemon easily? Get a lemon and roll it on the kitchen counter top with palm of your hand until lemon gets a bit softer. Get a metal skewer and insert into one end to make a small hole and remove. Squirt your lemon juice into your dish or bowl as required; nice and clean and easy.
Screw head slipping in cavity
If when you try to tighten up a screw and the screwdriver head just slips in the cavity – place a wide elastic band over the cavity and reinsert your screwdriver. The screwdriver should grip tightly in the cavity making it easy for you to tighten or unscrew as required.
Oven drip tray
Using aluminium foil, cut a length to suit your oven and line the bottom. It’s economical and can be replaced easily when dirty - plus saves you cleaning!
Add garlic immediately to a recipe if you want a subtle taste and towards the end to blast it with flavour.
If you don’t like the line on your clothes when you hang them across the airer to dry in the house over winter, slice open one side of a length of pool noodle, the length of your clothes dryer, and put over the bar – then hang the clothes- hey presto no crease line.
