Grants Program benefits grass roots groups image

Council recently presented cheques to 53 community groups who were successful recipients in round one of the Community Grants Program.

Campaspe Shire Mayor, Cr Adrian Weston, said the Community Support grants aim to deliver programs, projects and activities that benefit the residents of the shire.

“The program offers financial support to the shire’s not-for-profit sector for projects, events, exhibitions and/or performances which make Campaspe a more vibrant and stimulating place for people to live, work and visit,” Cr Weston said.

Grants were allocated in two categories, community support and events.

Community Support category

$3,500 Winter Blues Festival Inc, guitar painting exhibition, home grown stage and blues bootcamp.

$2,881 Kyabram Town Hall Inc, Art for Everyone – Instagram community art project.

$4,000 Echuca Community Church Relief Centre (Echuca Community Church), relief centre. $1,622 Community Living & Respite Services Inc, recyclability.

$3,990 Crossenvale Community Group Inc, access for all initiative.

$4,000 Echuca Moama Men’s Shed Inc, purchase of equipment and tools for the engineering room.

$1,000 Berrimba Childcare Centre Inc, bringing local culture to local schools and kindergartens by local aboriginal children.

$4,000 GVEG for Rushworth Action Group for the Environment - railway reserve wildflower bed construction and environment education.

$4,000 Echuca Moama & District Agricultural & Pastoral Society Inc, education and training to meet the needs of the show society.

$4,000 Echuca Moama Rockets Football Club Inc, Echuca Moama Rockets Football Club.

$4,000 Echuca Moama Theatre Company Inc, 2017 EMTC youth production, Elf the Musical Jr.

$2,200 Stanhope Recreation Reserve Committee of Management, goal post upgrade.

$2,250 Echuca Moama Arts Initiative Inc, functioning of Foundry Art Space.

$2,732 Rochester Mural Festival (Committee 4 Rochester Inc), strategic mural installations.

$4,000 Wyuna Recreation Reserve, purchase of a ride on mower.

$4,000 Echuca Football Netball Club Inc, seating at the netball courts.

$1,600 Gunbower Memorial Hall Committee of Management (DELWP), purchase and installation of a split system air conditioner in main hall.

$2,901 Echuca Neighbourhood House Inc, comfort for all.

$2,183 Kyabram Urban Landcare Group (Landcare Victoria Inc), grey box reserve interpretive trail.

$1,710 Fit to Drive Foundation Inc, the F2D Year 11 workshop.

$2,880 Life Saving Victoria, sink or swim education for youth in the Campaspe Shire.

Community Grants were presented by the Mayor at a special function held on 12 July.

The second round of Community Grants will open to the community on 1 August this year.
